Titleist Brand Ambassador Jang Yubin earned his second win of the season with a dramatic wire-to-wire victory, draining a 20-foot birdie putt on the first playoff hole to seal the victory. Jang – gaming his Pro V1x golf ball and SM10 wedges – shot a final round 68 to post a 72-hole total of 9 under, tied with fellow Titleist Brand Ambassador Heemin Chang. The win is Jang’s third career KPGA title, extending his lead in the season-long Genesis points list.
Remarkably, both wins this year have come on the back of runner-up finishes the week before. Yubin leads in a number of statistical categories, and with a strong wedge game leads the KPGA tour in average birdies per round. Of his SM10 wedges Yubin said; "As a long hitter, it’s the most important club for me. The first advantage of the Vokey wedge is the comfort it provides".
Since wedge shots are my favorite, I believe that having a wedge that suits is important. The Vokey wedge feels incredibly comfortable at address, which boosts my confidence... and I love how the consistent spin rate allows me to execute the shots I want."
Yubin's stock yardages
- 46.10F(135m~125m)
- 52.08F(122m~105m)
- 58.08M (100m and less)
"What I like most about SM10 is how well they perform when executing low-trajectory shots. While I attempt a variety of shots, I often look for lower trajectories. They are reliable clubs that consistently deliver great results".
Vokey Wedge Rep, HyunJin Koo on the 58 M Grind - "With a full swing, he can hit it exactly 100 meters, which is favorite distance. However he likes hitting flop shots around the green or from the rough, and the M grind perfectly meets those needs for him on the KPGA tour. On the Asian Tour, he'll switch to a 58 T Grind to adapt for the firmer course conditions."
While Yubin is celebrating his win, he is focused on his goal to finish first in the Player of the Year points standings, which would earn him a direct spot in the PGA Q-School Final, setting up an opportunity to play on the PGA Tour.
