Titleist Brand Ambassador Matteo Manassero made birdie on each of his final four holes to pull away from the field and win his fifth DP World Tour title this weekend. Manassero, gaming a Pro V1x golf ball and NEW Vokey SM10 wedges led the field fired a final round 66 to cap off his fourth round of 68 or better for the week and win by three shots. His week also included a Friday 11-under 61, the low round of the week by two shots and the lowest round of his career.

This season, Manassero targeted the 54.10S to provide the versatility he needs. "Matteo switched from 54.08M to the 54.14F last season as he was having issues controlling the strike in softer conditions. The ball would pop high on the face, causing issues with spin and distance control. We spent time fitting for an option that felt quicker through the turf, but still gave him the forgiveness he felt from the F on fuller shots, the S grind was the perfect solution – with enough sole to help in softer, sandy conditions. The result is more consistency in spin and distance control, thanks to contact being low on the face".

For the lob wedge, Manassero works between the popular M grind, and the WedgeWorks A+. Gaming the M grind over the past few seasons, the 30-year-old spent time earlier this season looking for a sole that suited firmer conditions. "We wanted something that sat tighter on the firm fairways and allow him to create more height in the shot, though still perform well out of the bunker where we needed width in the sole. The A+ gives a lot of the traits Matteo liked in his M but with more room for shot making on firmer ground".

Manassero also made a shaft change in recent weeks, electing to match the weight of his irons to help with the flow of the set, though keep a slightly softer flex to provide control and feel on partial shots.
